LINCOLN RUNNING COMPANY – 40th ANNIVERSARY
Lincoln Running Company has been locally owned and operated by the same family for 1976 – that makes February 2016 our 40th Birthday! All that time the same mission… to help people in Lincoln find the right shoes and gear to be fit, whether that be with running, walking, or moving basically!
We want the shopping experience with us to be just that – an experience…a very good one that encompasses everything from shoes, training, nutrition and injury prevention, to education and whatever the customer needs to know about running/walking/moving!
We accomplish that by employing compassionate runners, some of these runners are extremely talented, some are your average runner, some have run a long time and some are new to it…..just like our customers…all kinds of runners here. The one thing, other than running, that is the common theme with our employees is compassion. We view every customer with the same importance. The first time 5k runner is just as important as the winner of the Lincoln Marathon to us!
Ready. Set. Register! Run Some Hills and Eat Cake, Too
Register Early for the 40th Buffalo Run
The Lincoln Track Club's oldest race turns 40 on Sept. 11 and we want you to be a part of the fun. Challenge yourself by running the 40th Annual Buffalo Run, a 5-mile race starting at 8 a.m. near Pinewood Bowl in scenic Pioneers Park. After running up and down some of the most demanding hills in Lincoln, the LTC will celebrate with birthday cake and every 40th runner to cross the finish line gets a $40 gift certificate to the Lincoln Running Company!
Online registration guarantees you a pair of running shorts. Race veterans who have finished five or more previous Buffalo Runs earn an award winner t-shirt if they beat the average of their five most recent Buffalo Runs. Please indicate this on your entry if you are eligible for a shirt. Entry fee is a steal at $15 and must be completed by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3. (Please note - the deadline has moved up two days from the previous email.)
CAN'T RUN? VOLUNTEER INSTEAD!
As an organization which relies on volunteers, we are always looking for people to help with all of our races. If you are not able to run but would like to help at any of our races, contact our volunteer coordinator and they will find the perfect job for you!
The Bryan Health Run to Overcome and the LTC's Governor's Cup are joining forces to create the Bryan Health Capital City Classic on Sunday, Oct. 23. It will be run on the Governor's Cup routes starting and finishing near the Governor's Mansion with a 1-mile kids run, a 5K run/walk and a 15K run. As with the Bryan Health Run to Overcome, all proceeds will benefit mental health education and awareness.
